Overview of the role within the Business:
-The position has responsibility for the implementation and maintenance of AML/Sanctions policy within the Bank .
-This includes the execution of Group-wide Compliance Frameworks and Regional policy programs.
-The position is further required to be an integral component of the any AML/Sanctions/CTF projects/programmes business operations, working with all facets of the business in achieving its purpose and business objectives.
-The role must 'champion' AML/Sanctions Compliance and provide risk based solutions to achieve well managed, sustainable and compliant outcomes.
-Having strong stakeholder management skills as well as decision making capability will be required.
-As part of the Risk Management Committee, you will improve on the committee risk management process and oversight.
-Ensuring the committee has regular information on ORC with escalation of risk events, issues and policies requiring committee review, direction and approval will be a part of your risk.
-You will implement project and initiative governance process to ensure risk is an integral part of the solution with appropriate sign off.
-It is important to ensure risk and controls are a component of the review process in process/procedure changes, new products and services and projects and initiatives.
-Reporting on status of project risks and escalation with recommendation on high/extreme risks to RMC for action and completing AML risk assessments needs to be undertaken at regular intervals will assist in reviewing existing risks and determine new in the business.
-This will be through review of risk register and assessment undertaken to determine risk profile and strategies relating to further risk mitigation requirements.
The ideal candidate should have these qualifications:
-A successful candidate will have 6 to 8 years of Banking experience in AML and compliance roles along with excellent understanding of regulatory risk.
-Having thorough understanding of HKMA/SFC requirements and Hong Kong regulatory environment will be crucial to perform in this role.
-Tertiary/post graduate qualification in Business Management, Accounting or Finance will be preferred.
-It is mandatory to have excellent interpersonal skills, communication skills along with the ability to influence business outcomes and 'champion' of AML/CTF and compliance initiatives.
-Asian language skills such as Mandarin and Cantonese will be preferred.
