Our client is an international banking group currently undergoing significant growth in Asia. In the Asia region, the group focuses on developing its Wealth Management / Private Banking, Corporate Banking and Global Markets businesses. Due to increasing Corporate and Commercial Banking activities in Hong Kong, an outstanding opportunity has arisen for an experienced Credit Approver to join their team based in Hong Kong.
Reporting to the Regional Credit Risk Officer, you will manage a small team focusing on the Credit Approval / Recommendation for Corporate Clients in the Mid-Cap and SME segment in Hong Kong. You will partner with Relationship Managers covering the designated client segment and assist in identifying business opportunities with acceptable risk limits. As a senior Credit Approver, you will have approval authority and will exercise appropriately of the delegated credit approval discretion for the transactions and make recommendation for higher authority for transactions exceeding your authorised range. You will train and coach credit analysts and junior relationship managers on credit related issues and lead conflict resolution in a professional manner without compromising underwriting standards.
To qualify, individuals must possess:
- University degree
- Minimum 12-15 years relevant experience in Credit Risk Management, Credit Analysis and / or Credit Approval from Corporate / Commercial Banking
- Experience covering the SME / Mid-Cap client segment is a must
- Experience in transaction negotiation and structuring would be highly advantageous
- Excellent communication skills with fluency in English
