Director- Credit Data Pooling recruitment
The Primary purpose of the Director position is to lead a team of Credit Data and Credit Data Pooling professionals, plan, prioritize and execute on projects and data processes, analysis, and interface with a variety of internal stakeholders and providers in order to ensure the accurate and timely delivery of data and related quality controls to support McGraw Hill Financial's commercial business.
This person will manage a staff of three to four staff located in New York, while the geographic coverage of business includes North America, Saudi Arabia, and Europe with possible expansion of coverage to Eurasia (Russia, Armenia, Kazakhstan). This person will act as a liaison with the Risk Solutions group on current and future consortia projects, products and contracts.
Individual will be required to demonstrate a strong ability to identify, analyze and solve problems with respect to the proper content of information and presentation of data, operational procedures and management crisis situations. Incumbent will be required to make efficient use of resources during periods of high volume and market activity.
Essential Accountability
- Manage a team of 3-4 Credit Data (SME, Corporate and Project Finance) professionals responsible for acquiring financial statements and default info from member banks, and performing analysis to determine Loss Given Defaults (recovery) as well as Default Rates in different regional or asset class credit markets.
- Lead the team in a high-achieving, mission-driven atmosphere that is conducive to learning continuously and performing efficiently in order to produce high quality data analytical reports that are sent to member banks of a particular consortia.
- Work with executives and managers in Data Operations, Risk Solutions and Enterprise Data to understand their business targets, requests, priorities and requirements, and work with them to deliver a strategic data collection framework that will enable them to meet their business goals in an efficient and cost effective manner.
- Perform management related tasks such as communication to the leadership and the organization on the success, challenges and breakthroughs of the team, the staff's performance management, conduct staff meetings, assess career growth potential, increase team's working knowledge of various risk exposures (probability of default, loss given default, exposure at default), conduct quarterly coaching sessions, monitor employee performance.
- Ensure that methodological queries from regulators and consortia member banks are responded to on a timely basis. Troubleshoot as needed when there are issues. In addition, make staff available to engage as subject matter experts in pre-sales support activities.
Skills
- BA or BS in Finance, Accounting, Statistics or related field. MBA or CFA strongly desired.
- 8+ years financial data management experience.
- Maintain leadership in a group environment and promote harmony and teamwork.
- Demonstrated leadership skills and must be able to instill and maintain a culture of excellence within his team.
- Experience with resolving data issues due to aggregation of financial data.
- Knowledge of Credit Risk Management concepts
- Understanding of bank credit processes
- Financial Accounting standards expertise
- Clear understanding of different types of bank lending
- Strong Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Access skills required or equivalent experience with database maintenance.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills are essential to facilitate interaction with a variety of individuals, both internally and externally.
- Proficiency in the area of timely delivery of complex milestones is required.
- Experience leading multi-cultural teams or working with international clients
