DIRECTOR, CREDIT RISK MANAGEMENT (Based in Shanghai, China)

Reporting to the Head of CRM in China, you will be responsible for managing a team of 3-4 credit risk officers to analyze counterparties, identify, quantify and mitigate risk drivers in commercial and investment banking transactions. Analyze credit risk on a portfolio of large corporate clients with trade finance and derivative transactions (including fixed income, equities, commodities and foreign exchange). Coordinate with other Risk units (Market Risk, Treasury, Operational Risk) on credit approvals, counterparty information and credit risk control steps. Conduct independent due diligence on counterparties, including leading client meetings, and financial analysis. Assess global, regional and local market events/trends and their impact on local industries and counterparties. Daily control and exposure management of credit facilities, including follow up on trade execution, booking, credit limit implementation, reporting and monitoring. Understanding of financial products and their risk profiles, ability to evaluate proposed new transaction structures to identify and mitigate risk factors. Ensure compliance with relevant PRC regulations. Interaction with senior management in Risk and business units about transactions, structures and market developments.

The ideal candidate should be University graduate with minimum 6-8 years experience in credit risk management and assessment, with focus on corporate sector. Experience in international banks is highly preferred. Understanding of financial products in capital markets (swaps, FX, equities, and collateralised transactions/structures) and trade finance, with focus on product risks. Strong awareness of Chinese financial markets, financing structures, and regulatory framework. Familiar with legal documentation and risk issues, including ISDA, NAFMII, CSA, and credit mitigating measures. Team oriented, flexible, diligent, self motivated. Strong communication skills (both written and verbal). Fluency in English and Mandarin is a MUST.
