Director, Customer Marketing - Hedge Funds and Asset Managers
The primary purpose of this role is to drive the development of global strategic customer segment based marketing for hedge fund and asset manager customers to help drive CME Group revenue, lead generation, cross selling and address competitive issues/pressures. He/she will be responsible for coordinating/collaborating with the Marketing, Products Services, Corporate Marketing Communications, Research Product Development divisions to develop these plans and deliverables.
Position Description
• Responsible for understanding the needs, challenges and opportunities of hedge fund and asset manager customers in order to better engage and partner with target customers to achieve defined volume and revenue goals.
• Develops an annual segment marketing plan.
• Leverages established framework to quickly develop targeted marketing campaigns aligned with segment and product priorities to take advantage of current marketing conditions, customer interest or combat key competitive threats in customer segments resulting in revenue growth, lead generation and customer acquisition.
• Actively champions the customer point of view internally and externally.
• Determines priorities and needs for segment marketing deliverables. Oversees the final creative execution.
• Determines the needs and plans for customer-specific market research.
• Develops the overall strategy, content direction and distribution plan for segment newsletters and communications.
• Responsible for measurement of segment marketing activity.
• Manages segment budgets.
• Partners with regional marketing teams to help shape regional specific segment marketing initiatives.
• Ensures continued communication to and proper engagement of key marketing teams as well as acts as liaison to CDS segment leads.
• Regularly communicate and collaborate with International and Product Marketing, Research and Product Development and Products Services.
Requirements
• Bachelors Degree in marketing. MBA preferred.
• Minimum of 8-10 years experience working in financial services marketing on either the client or agency side. Prefer experience with a hybrid organization that has a sales and business line function. Derivatives experience or understanding of the hedge funds and asset manager customers is preferred.
• Strong written and oral communication skills.
• Strong sense of collaboration and ability to work as part of a growing team.
• Proven ability to make decisions, manage projects and meet strict deadlines.
• Integrated Marketing experience preferred.
• Proven ability to prioritize their own work and work through others to develop segment marketing deliverables.
