Job Purpose

Reporting to the Managing Director, Marketing and eCommerce, we are seeking a Director, Digital Marketing—Partnership and Distribution. This position will be responsible for developing relationships with new marketing and distribution partners and platforms and strengthening current relationships. This individual will possess knowledge and experience in the travel distribution space. The position will work closely with our eCommerce, advertising, sales and other internal teams.

Excellent business acumen, marketing experience, strategic thinking, and communication skills are required.

In addition, the Director, Digital Marketing--Partnerships and Distribution will:

  • Serve as a digital strategist for Best Western

  • Maintain expert level knowledge of trends and best practices in digital technology, marketing, relevant industry verticals and general business strategy while analyzing and recommending strategies and enhancements for new technologies to optimize partner (B2B) user experience, acquisition and retention.

  • Serve as thought leader and trusted business advisor to senior management, external membership/hotel owners and key client/partner executives where appropriate

  • Provide digital strategy services that span all relevant technology platforms (online, mobile, video, social, and emerging) to existing and new partner relationships while integrating with internal teams and brand direction.

  • Development of presentations, digital marketing plans, proposals and project management

  • Leverage a deep background in digital marketing to optimize brand channel performance

  • Support and lead research efforts and business assessments of business opportunities to identify and prioritize resource allocation and deployment

  • Develop and apply frameworks for measuring and maximizing the business value of digital initiatives and work streams to maximize synergies and ensure delivery of high impact digital marketing solutions

  • Proactively and persuasively deliver timely guidance on digital trends impacting business plan and lead collaborative, interactive workshops/meetings/webinars for hoteliers, internal staff and external client partners

  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously while planning, implementing and monitoring emerging technologies and distribution platforms with internal and external vendors

  • Regularly communicates with various internal and external (members, clients/partners) as a champion for overall eCommerce strategies and objectives

  • Manages, motivates and develops staff by assessing strengths and weaknesses providing appropriate developmental and training opportunities.

    Skills/Requirements

    Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Marketing, or related field, or an equivalent combination of education and work experience.

  • 8 + years experience in hospitality marketing or e-Commerce.

  • Minimum of 5 years B2B and B2C digital marketing

  • Demonstrated knowledge and experience in the travel distribution and marketing space

  • Demonstrated ability to work in a matrix organization, managing relationships with both internal and external customers

  • Ability to manage and collaborate with vendors and agencies to achieve agreed upon goals

  • Strong organizational and project management skills

  • Excellent communication skills

  • Strong business acumen
