Director – Direct Banking – URGENT recruitment

Job Purpose

Our client is looking for a senior manager to be their General Manager of their direct banking arm.

The General Manager has overall responsibility for all direct banking including marketing, business development, operational stability, compliance and maintaining financial control.

Reports to Global Head International Banking
Personnel Supervised 4-5 direct reports

Key Accountabilities

■ Facilitate and take responsibility for creating and meeting the direct bankrsquo;s strategic plan in line with the International Direct Banking Policy which is aimed at recruiting customers, bringing in deposits, cross selling products and tapping into new high potential target markets.
■ Full responsibility for setting and achievement of commercial targets, operational budget, compliance and financial results.
■ Direct and build/maintain the brand proposition/customer experience and ensure alignment and consistency of the proposition across product lines ndash; savings, investment funds and other products offered ndash; and customer touch points.
■ Oversee the business strategy and ensure that marketing campaigns are planned with support from Operations and call centre to achieve sales targets. Ensure that these campaigns are legally compliant.
■ As the spokesman of the bank promote the bank and its mission via an integrated PR strategy.
■ As the main face of the bank in the market actively engage with customers using traditional and new media (eg blogging, twitter etc).
■ Manage and develop the organisation structure, staffing and management of the internet bankrsquo;s current and future requirements to ensure operational excellence.
■ Responsible to build and maintain a healthy balance between drive to change / improve and operational stability (checks and balances).
■ Work closely with key stakeholders to ensure that the bank's business development, IT and operational requirements are fully supported and in adherence with present policy frameworks.
■ Drive innovation through the internet bank using technology or other methods to increase sales, higher cross-sell rates, improve customer satisfaction and reduce costs.
■ Manage the co-operation with other units, brands and companies.
■ Take ownership for the development and implementation of the internet bankrsquo;s CSR programme.
■ Participate in (member of) the Global Management team with particular regard to the development of the strategic plans for the direct banks.
■ Responsible to take initiatives in areas where the bank can create synergies for the other Direct Banks across the globe.

■ Ability to oversee and cover conceptual, tactical and operational working areas.
■ Retail banking knowledge and experience would be very desirable but not essential for the right candidate.

■ Affinity with and knowledge of IT applications, belief in and extensive knowledge of the future of direct banking.
■ Insight into the banking business processes of a retail bank.

■ Strategic marketing capability coupled with an ability turn strategy into concrete marketing sales plans.

7. Qualifications and Experience

■ Experienced in leading corporate communications for a company.
■ Post-graduate qualified in business and/or marketing.
