BASIC PURPOSE OF POSITION

:

The eCommerce Director is responsible for developing, managing and maintaining the Direct to Consumer business unit for Topco.

 

 

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

 

The E-Commerce Director will manage all aspects of the direct business including:

·         Category and product selection, and online promotion (merchandising)

·         Vendor selection and management

·         Assisting members in the identification and development of consumer marketing initiatives

·         Maintaining the highest level of customer service

·         Development and implementation of operating policy and procedures

·         Direct oversight of the creation and on-going maintenance of a the member.com platform

·         Manage all 3rd party relationships including web platform provider, supplier network provider, call center, PIM, and all others necessary to support the business

·         Engage participating members in the overall activities of the business

·         Grow member participation and consumer awareness and purchases

·         Define KPI's and reporting needs

·         Develp and manage operating plans, budgets and capital plans

·         Define and implement the apporpriate organization required to support the business

·         Develop and maintain relationships with all participating Topco members on ecommerce strategies and emerging feature functions and technologies to support the business

 

 

PRINCIPAL WORKING RELATIONSHIPS:

Members – creating excitement and engagement with participating members; driving growth through adding new members

Third party providers – managing all third party partners responsible for various elements of the platform and other support services

Topco – direct reports will include merchandising, vendor management customer service, technology support and others to be defined

QUALIFICATIONS

 

Education:

Undergraduate degree in engineering, business, economics or other

MBA preferred

 

Technical skills:

Understanding of ecommerce technologies

Understanding of drop-ship ecommerce model

Business process

 

Previous Experience:

3 years of running a successful ecommerce business responsible

General management experience – direct responsibility for multiple functions; ownership of PL

Marketing in an on-line environment

Merchandising – identifying categories and products for sale online

 

Other qualifications:

·         Superior ability to communicate effectively with others at all levels, orally and in writing.

·         Superior persuasion and interpersonal skills to gain support from internal and external constituents

·         Strong analytical ability.

·         Ability to successfully manage multiple complex projects simultaneously.

·         Ability and willingness to travel by air and car as required.
