Job Description

 

Core purpose of the role

 

Lead, manage and direct a distributed EHSS team - lead, motivate, develop (and appoint where necessary) the current EHSS team of approximately 14 people across Invensys Rail Northern Europe; ensure alignment and coordination of efforts across the Rail business. 

 

Key Activities and principal Accountabilities

 

Ø  Set EHSS strategy and direction for IRNE - co-develop the EHSS strategy with the EHSS leadership of the businesses and gain buy-in across the Rail group and the wider Invensys.

 

Ø  Establish and drive a behavioural change programme across the business - execute the strategy and plan across the business and embed the EHSS ethos.

 

Ø  Measure, monitor report on the EHSS performance of IRNE- take a lead role in the reporting of results and progress to the executive management team.

 

Ø  Contribute to the functional leadership of EHSS in Invensys - as a member of the company-wide Invensys EHSS Leadership Team and drive the wider Invensys agenda, especially around high levels of safety performance, sustainability initiatives and environmental programs.

 

Ø  Establish a high profile for EHSS across IRNE - through the change programme, establish a high profile for EHSS in the business and ensure buy-in from all stakeholder groups around the IRNE business.

 

Ø  Act as a credible external representative for IRNE on EHSS matters - with external stakeholder groups such as Health Safety Executive and other interested parties as necessary.

 

Ø  Identify upcoming global EHSS trends and requirements - through personal networks and participation in pertinent associations and organizations on a global basis, maintain an awareness of the most important safety, risk and sustainability issues facing (and likely to impact) our IRNE business into the foreseeable future.

 

Ø  Identify EHSS-related risks and manage planning/response efforts  - coordinate risk management planning exercises and serve as response leader in the event of a crisis.
