We are currently searching for a Director Employee Benefits to join Saint-Gobain North America.

The Director Employee Benefits will have overall management of SGC’s benefits programs, with a special emphasis on strategic planning, design, cost containment, financial analysis, communications and compliance. And they will have overall responsibility for the strategic design and implementation of SGC’s wellness programs.

Qualifications:

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITES
Develop and recommend strategic health and welfare initiatives for the SGC businesses, including financial impacts and implementation plans.

Manage the overall strategic design, implementation and communication of SGC’s wellness programs, including communications and development of ROI measures and reporting protocols.

Develop and manage relationships with outside benefit vendors, providers and consultants to ensure cost-effective delivery of services and high quality performance.

Develop and maintain customer-oriented and responsive relationships with key internal benefit clients (i.e., business unit HR heads and their staffs.)

Manage the health and welfare due diligence process associated with acquisition/divestiture activity, including the integration of new businesses into the SGC benefit programs and the separation of benefits resulting from divestitures.

Manage SGC’s health and welfare compliance with government reporting requirements (FAS 106/112 liabilities, Forms, 5500, Plan Documents, Summary Plan Descriptions, etc.)

Assimilate, analyze and report financial data for the management of SGC’s benefit programs including, monitoring reserves, setting self-insured rates, determining employee contributions, reconciling accounts, management reporting, etc.

Develop and conduct effective benefits training seminars for SGC’s Human Resource community.

Serve as SGC’s lead health and welfare benefit’s expert with regard to issues raised by employees, Human Resources representatives and business managers; provide staffwork for appeals to the Benefits Committee.
Participate in the review of SGC’s defined benefit and defined contribution retirement plans.

Manage, review and recommend changes in the benefit programs for the non-US operations of SGC.

REQUIREMENTS AND RELATTED EXPERIENCE
-BA/BS required; MBA or equivalent preferred.
-10 - 12 years of strategic planning, design and management experience in welfare, wellness and retirement plans.
-Experience with unions and union contract issues/benefits design
-Minimum 5 years contract development/compliance experience.
-Significant acquisition/divestiture experience required.
-In-depth knowledge of IRS code and ERISA.
-Excellent analytical/financial skills
-Good working knowledge or benefit accounting processes, including FAS 106 and 112.
-Previous experience supervising a staff.
-Multi-location experience required.
-Excellent written and oral communication skills required.
-Excellent negotiation skills required.
-Able to develop and manage effective teams.

15%-20% travel.
