Role Description The EOAM Team's mission is to provide commercial/strategic guidance and manage Specialty Care Business Unit Business Development and Alliances. Specifically, EOAM partners with Disease Area (DA) leaders to set and execute SCBU Business Development (BD) strategies, leads commercial assessments of BD opportunities and external collaborations, and makes BD recommendations to senior Specialty Care leadership for endorsement. As the lead for external commercial opportunities and assessments, the colleague is responsible for enabling strategic decision-making by partnering with various functional lines including but not limited to Medical, Market Analytics, Market Access, Portfolio Analytics, Clinical Development, Medical Affairs, Business Development, and in-line and regional marketing. Responsibilities " Lead externalization of SCBU BD strategies based upon expertise in alternative collaboration models involving partners such as venture capital and boutique investment firms while leveraging key contacts within the bio-pharma industry. " Support the development of external BD strategies in support of the SCBU Commercial Development clusters. " Represent SCBU Commercial Development on business development (BD) opportunities: o Screen external opportunities in partnership with extended Worldwide BD colleagues. o Lead commercial sub teams to assess strategic fit and risks, and complete qualitative and quantitative asset valuations for potential licenses or acquisitions leading to the presentation of management recommendation and endorsement. o Communicate/present value and risks to key stakeholders, including senior Pfizer leadership. " Share best business practices and key insights with broader EOAM team to facilitate development of a high-performing, highly efficient BD strategy team. " Capable of managing all aspects of ongoing alliances serving as single contact to external partner company as issues arise Qualifications - Demonstrated strategic leading to value creation. - Experience in developing and implementing alternative collaboration models with partners such as venture capital and boutique investment firms, including existing relationships and contacts with such types of partners. - Demonstrated experience and effectiveness in leading commercial assessments/valuations of business development opportunities to endorsement and execution. - Ability to forecast revenue/costs for future assets, utilize NPV models for strategic decisions, including multi variant scenario assessments - Consulting background a plus - Leadership capabilities to drive multi disciplinary teams to develop critical insight and strategies, and gain internal buy-in to analyses. - Demonstrated ability to develop, articulate, and implement alternative operating models and sources of external funding a plus - Strong communications skills to drive decision making. - Executive presence to achieve credibility with senior leadership. - Well-versed in market research methodologies, and working with commercial partner Lines (Market Analytics, Access etc) to ensure delivery of efficient/insightful external guidance. - Must be able and willing to travel domestically and internationally in support of business objectives. - Bachelor's degree with 10 plus years of pharmaceutical industry experience, MBA preferred.
