Under general direction from the Senior Director of Supply Chain, the Director of Global Distribution and Transportation is responsible for global distribution, transportation and customs compliance activities within Bauer Performance Sports. You will develop and operate Bauer’s global logistics network to meet or exceed specific regional and global service and expense objectives.  You will negotiate and manage distribution transportation (DT) services for all provider contracts and drive supply chain efficiencies by maximizing emerging DT best practices.  You will manage daily activities of Customs and DT departments, ensuring customs compliance and service level objectives.  The incumbent will develop and maintain a roster of strategic vendors that aligns to Bauer’s short and long term strategies and establish and develop strategic partnerships with service providers both domestically and internationally. You will review and communicate compliance performance metrics to necessary internal parties, identifying the need for process/service level improvements and conduct internal global customs audits and reviews and submit analysis and recommendations.  You will work with key partners to develop and manage costs and manage open lines of communication with domestic and international vendors and factories.

 

Qualifications:

 

-   Bachelors degree and 10 - 15 years of global supply chain experience; Masters degree preferred.

-   Strong negotiation skills with 3rd party distribution transportation companies.

-   Global managerial experience required.

-   Ability to communicate amongst all levels of the organization.

-   Experience in managing large distribution and transportation expenses.

-   Ability to communicate effectively over a wide range distance (written and verbal).

-   Works well with team members and maintains positive environment.

-   Must be extremely organized and detail-orientated.

-   Working understanding of the distribution and transportation industries, negotiations, claims management, supply chain experience, customs/documentation and compliance knowledge.

-   Strong proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel, with working knowledge of WMS a plus.
