Job Description Valeo Sylvania, a leader in the automotive lighting industry, has an exciting immediate opening for an HR Director at our Seymour, IN location. The successful candidate will be responsible for the overall strategic direction of HR activities of Valeo Sylvania (VS) including employee relations, employee benefits, training and development, safety, health and environmental for all VS employees and sites in US and Mexico. In addition, the HR Director will advise the President and staff on HR matters related to the business objectives of the organization. Additional responsibilities include, but are not limited to: -Monitor safety programs which assures a safe working environment for all employees. -Assure that a favorable employee relations environment is maintained at all levels of the organization by the timely development and implementation of programs which provides employee satisfaction at all facilities. -Develop an employment/manpower program to provide qualified personnel to the operation in a timely manner. -Maintain an equitable compensation and benefits program to assure the organization maintains a competitive position in the labor markets where they operate. -Assure that an effective communication system exists which provides required information to appropriate segments of the employee population. -Prepare and administer an Affirmative Action Program, which promotes the spirit of Equal -Employment Opportunity. -Coordinate the performance management process with other departments to assure that the program serves management objectives of manpower evaluation, utilization and development. -Maintain a medical program which meets the medical needs of employees and optimizes employee productivity to the organization. -Provide counseling in the areas of career planning and problem/conflict resolution for all employees. -Assess organizational training needs and develop/procure programs to address needs. Evaluate training results. -Maintain a community relations program consistent with Valeo Sylvanias desire to be identified in the community as an employer of choice. Requirements: Minimum of 15 years of Human Resources experience in industrial workplaces inclusive of union, non-union and corporate environments. Experience overseeing site(s) in Mexico.
