Director I- Business Development: Business Creation Lead Investigator Position Summary : The Business Creation Lead Investigator (BCLI) is responsible for the identification, qualification, refinement, and vigorous pursuit of substantive new business opportunities during early phases (through Phase 1 completion) of the IPDS process. The BCLI is equally responsible for making ?no pursue? recommendations to terminate activities that do not show promise or are not aligned to the IDS strategic plan. The BCLI must demonstrate the ability to establish trusted relationships, apply research and analysis to assess market opportunities and develop preliminary capture plans. While developing and validating opportunities, the BCLI will actively seek additional leads to feed the opportunity pipeline. The BCLI must have a strong understanding of IDS solutions and capabilities and be able to leverage that knowledge in the development of creatively satisfying customer needs and generating revenues. We are seeking a BCLI initially matrixed in support of IDS? Global Integrated Sensors business who will be focused on enhancing the long term (5 year) strategic pipeline plan. To be successful, the BCLI will work closely with the Business Area Vice President, BDE, Program Directors and Technical Director to develop and enhance the long term growth plan. The successful BCLI is the subject matter expert to business areas during the early phase/gates of IPDS process. The BCLI will support the BDE and/or Capture Leader during transition of opportunities to Phase 2. Job Responsibilities: · During phase -1 is responsible for strategic planning, customer identification, customer interface, market development, and opportunity development to create new business opportunities that generate revenue. · Collaborates across IDS, most regularly with Business Creation, BDEs, Product Leads, and Engineering, to understand customer capability gaps, determine the optimal solution space, and shape customer needs/requirements · Responsible for identifying and mitigating barriers to market entry by creating strategies that address the issues from the customer perspective · Develops solutions that may include leveraging partnerships, teaming, or other business frameworks to meet customer needs · Responsible for Gate 0 package ? Opportunity Validation Review · Responsible for Gate 1 package including Interest/No interest recommendation · During Phase 1, develops the Win strategy options, conducts Blue Team review and engages in preparing capture manager and technical leads for pursuit · Develops recommendations for NBI expenditures to support promising opportunities · Leads Industry days and other internal events that expand knowledge of markets, customers and Raytheon capabilities Basic Qualifications MS/MA degree 16 + years of related experience developing business opportunities and/or leading capture efforts Experience with customer focused marketing and IPT leadership with a track record of effectively using matrix organizations to get results Demonstrated record of successful creation and award of new business opportunities measured by number of opportunities under contract Experience conducting competitive assessments, customer analysis, win strategy development, and Price To Win Analysis Experience building and managing customer relationships to seek out and identify new business opportunities measured by quantity and quality of opportunities added to pipeline Extensive knowledge of customer faced market, IPDS, and capture tools and processes Demonstrated knowledge of associate contractors and the competitive landscape Ability to work seamlessly across a matrix organization Existing Security Clearance Desired Qualifications Top Secret Clearance Excellent oral and written communication skills Ability and credibility to operate at highest levels in the Office of the Secretary of Defense and military Ability and credibility to operate at highest levels internationally Demonstrated ability to connect diverse interests and customer needs to determine strategic opportunities and markets in core businesses and adjacencies Creative leader results oriented mindset Raytheon is an equal opportunity employer and considers qualified applicants for employment without regard to race, color, creed, religion, national origin, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity and expression, age, disability, or Vietnam era, or other eligible veteran status, or any other protected factor
