Job Description:

The IIS Technical Director is primarily responsible for delivering a portfolio of Technology Projects that satisfy the Technical Needs established by the Product Line Technical Directors. The Technology Projects comprise IRAD, CRAD and Enterprise Campaigns - as well as specialized support to Development Programs in the 6 IIS Core Technology Areas: Decision Support, Analytics, Physical Sensing, Human Sensing, Cyber Sensing and Effects, and Ubiquitous Intelligence.

"¢ Develop and set IIS Technology goals, strategy, and direction that are aligned with the IIS Business Strategy. The Technology Strategy will be traceable to tech trends in Govt and Academia, and to the capabilities of our competitors.

"¢ Realize this Technology Strategy in the form of a Technology Program that is planned annually, and evaluated quarterly. The Technology Program includes IRAD, CRAD and Enterprise Campaigns

"¢ IRAD:

"¢ Establish a portfolio of IRAD projects within the IRAD budget, which is allocated by Market Area and proportioned into Strategic and Tactical investment allocations.

"¢ Formulate IRAD projects that satisfy the business-driven Technology Needs established by the Product Line Tech Directors. Horizontally integrate the Tech Needs to maximize IRAD ROI as compared to formulating Product Line-specific IRADs.

"¢ Report metrics quantifying the impact of the IRAD investment and progress against the plan.

"¢ CRAD:

"¢ Responsible for achieving IIS' annual CRAD bookings target, as enabled by the CRAD NBI budget provided by Business Development.

"¢ Report metrics quantifying progress against the CRAD bookings target, and quantifying the impact of the CRAD program (e.g., in achieving elements of the Tech Strategy).

"¢ Enterprise Campaigns

"¢ Identify Technology Priorities for the annual Corporate Enterprise Campaign proposal cycle.

"¢ Collaborate with the IIS Business Strategy Director to deliver EC proposals that maximize IIS business benefit from the EC portfolio

"¢ Provide technical oversight of IIS-led EC activities, and support tech oversight across the overall EC portfolio.

"¢ Report EC performance metrics to the IIS LT.

"¢ Ensure that all appropriate elements of the Technology Program have a path into IIS products, and that the Technology Program is aligned with IIS Product roadmap priorities.

"¢ Implement an Intellectual Property Strategy, and report metrics to quantify the progress and effectiveness of the strategy.

"¢ Provide day-to-day project management of the six IIS Tech Center Directors.

"¢ Actively promote Technical Vitality across IIS, in partnership with the Regional Technology Discipline Managers, and report objective measures to the Director of Engineering Transformation.

"¢ Serve as IIS' primary POC to the RTN Chief Technology Officer. Collaborate with the TDs in each of the other RTN Business Units to leverage Technology initiatives across the RTN Enterprise.
