Director Inpatient Management Job in Los Angeles, California US

DIRECTOR - INPATIENT MANAGEMENT - Virtual Position West Coast

Sets team(s) direction, resolves problems and provides guidance to team members, works independently understanding individual and market goals, metrics, trends and results

Prioritizes activities for multiple markets; sets direction for manager(s) market(s)

Adapts department plans and priorities to address business challenges to include PTO management and caseload balancing.

Provides input to forecasting and planning activities relevant staffing and facility coverage due to identified utilization trends and membership fluctuations.

Keeps Performance on Track by ongoing performance monitoring and completing annual MAP evaluations. Implements developmental plans and supports MBOs for upcoming year.

Actively participates in market bed day meetings and communicate direction to managers and staff.

Properly escalates concerns or operational issues impacting Region or Market(s)

Engages Sr. Medical Director or Medical Directors for activities that impact both nursing and physicians.

Supports and actively engages in projects for region/assigned markets or Enterprise-wide initiatives

Support and champion business standardization and flawless execution for business initiative

Support continuous improvement of annual employee engagement scores

A current, unrestricted RN license in applicable state(s)

Minimum of 5 years relevant experience including 3 years in a management role in Utilization Management in a managed care environment or other equivalent setting.

Familiar with the utilization of criteria based decision making tools, such as Milliman Care Guidelines, Interqual or other criteria-based guidelines preferred.

Case management certification and/or experience preferred

Solid computer skills

Ability to build and maintain relationships is essential

Effective communication skills, flexibility and displays positive attitude

BS or BSN degree preferred, graduate degree preferred

Previous Director Level experience required
