Job Description
We are inviting application for the position of Director, Insurance. Financial Institutions.
The job holder will
- be responsible for managing the HK insurance portfolio, consisting of insurance companies and their related asset managers.
- formulate account strategy, develop relationships, increase share of wallet and number of active relationships, identify cross selling opportunities to maximize risk adjusted profitability from a portfolio of insurance companies and fund management companies.
- lead/coach other team members across our matrix organisation to deliver a effective sales process and discipline,
- work closely with product/business partners to identify new market/product opportunities
Key Roles Responsibilities
- Manage the HK portfolio of insurance companies with a focus on managing own priority clients, managing other RM's and working closely with the Regional Head of Insurance on developing the regional office relationships which are located in HK.
- Provide oversight of the insurance portfolio to ensure penetration and implementation of strategy.
- Financial Markets sales: demonstrate sales model working with product partners in credit, RFX, Convertible Bonds/ Equity, Structured Credit, CM solutions, etc.
- Display commitment to the global Financial Institutions/ Wholesale Banking businesses; prioritising and maximising global revenue and profitability.
- Defend and increase the liability base of the assigned portfolio
- Establish direct access and multilevel calling to identify cross selling opportunities, evaluate credits, negotiate facility/RFP terms, resolve operational issues and gather market intelligence independently
- Tangible demonstration that client needs and issues are always top priority. Understanding the strategy and action priorities of the business and implementing them immediately. 24 hour response to enquiries from other team members.
- Pursue activities and plans above and beyond everyday practice that enable SCB to enhance its business performance. Providing prompt and candid feedback and coaching to team members to enable the team to grow and improve. Have honest, open discussions with team head and team members.
- Implement rigorous sales discipline for own portfolio
- Work closely with Product Partners, Sales Operations Support, Customer Banking, and in-house/external counsel
Qualifications Skills
- Highly educated University graduate with a technical discipline and proven Financial Institution and Insurance experience in an international organization or bank
- Proven track record in performance
- A team player with excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- A seasoned professional who can deal with complexity and matrix
- Strong knowledge in banking products, and insurance market
- Possess good risk management discipline
- Good credit competency and able to prepare Credit Application independently
- Knowledge in Cash, Custody to market SCB capabilities independently with decision makers
- English language is key, Cantonese/Mandarin would be advantageous.
