Director – Insurance / Reinsurance Structured Product Development. recruitment
A major global Reinsurance Company is looking to expand its Asian Structured Solutions capability by appointing an experienced Reinsurance professional in its Singapore office. This is a senior, Director level position and is seen as being of pivotal importance to the group’s strategic expansion within Asia.
The Role
• In collaboration with Business Development teams, identify client themes and drivers for client needs focusing on the value of transactional PC business.
• Meet regularly with clients to understand their motivation, and create structures, transaction plans and contracts tailored to meet client needs.
• Develop professional relationships with key external and internal clients.
• Organise and lead sessions at internal conferences and workshops for Marketing, Underwriting and other internal stakeholders.
• Participate in the planning procedures for the PC Asia markets in collaboration with Marketing and Product teams.
• Lead transactions and ensure an inclusive approach with underwriters, actuarial, legal, accounting, finance, credit and other professionals.
• Develop and promote innovation.
• Leverage Underwriting experts for local market and custom practices while maintaining a core level of experience and expertise to promote best practice and address governance matters.
Requirements
• Minimum 10 years experience in the financial/insurance industry.
• Significant and varied experience in reinsurance either in Underwriting, Risk Management or Marketing, complemented by practical experience in executing tailored PC reinsurance transactions.
• Thorough understanding of reinsurance risk and actuarial principles.
• Solid know-how of reinsurance products and markets.
• Work experience in a multi-cultural and cross-functional environment.
• Strong financial acumen with deep capital management / solvency proficiency.
• Outstanding analytical capabilities.
• Good understanding of corporate finance, including accounting, tax, legal, regulatory and compliance principles.
• Strong entrepreneurial mindset and focus on execution.
• Excellent team player – including ability to work well in a virtual team environment.
• Proven ability to lead manage large cross-functional teams.
• Excellent communication and facilitation skills.
• Strong negotiation and influencing skills.
• Strong networking skills.
