Overview

As a Senior Account Manager you will be responsible for achieving revenue goals for a number of clients, the development of new business and the day-to-day management and development of an Account Team.

General Responsibilities

• Overall responsibility for a number of clients ensuring final delivery is to the level and quality required.

• Developing and maintaining strong working relationships with clients and journalists.

• Financial accountability to senior management for the performance of the Account Team.

• Recruiting new staff and developing the existing Account Team.

• Working on new business pitches as required.

Account Specific Responsibilities

In no particular order:

• Working with your Account Team to determine how best the client’s business objectives can be met, to develop effective PR/marketing strategies and to identify key company messages.

• Briefing your Account Team on what is required of them.

• Selling in new ideas/stories to your clients.

• Providing leadership and guidance to your Account Team.

• Motivating and managing your Account Team in order to achieve set objectives.

• Managing client relationships to: provide strategic guidance; ensure expectations are managed; ensure the right people are working on the account; ensure delivery is to the standard required.

• Matching marketing programmes to solve client’s business problems.

• Monitoring progress of all projects (PR, marketing, event management) and making recommendations for modifications where appropriate.

• Monitoring time spent by your Account Team and where necessary communicating to clients the need for additional time.

• Identifying and introducing new opportunities to clients.

• Preparing estimates and proposals and approving those drafted by Account Managers.

• Presenting proposals/estimates to clients (including costs) and securing client agreement.

• Ensuring clients are invoiced on time and in line with work carried out.

• Providing media training to clients when required.

• Building solid working relationships with journalists.

Personal Specification

This position will ideally suit an individual of graduate caliber with minimum four years agency experience. Knowledge of the financial sector is not essential but is an advantage. Candidates must have strong communication skills with a track record of working with high profile clients. The successful candidate must have strong team management skills together with solid business development, project management and financial management skills. The position suits a team player with the ability to demonstrate enthusiasm, motivation and commitment with initiative and a persuasive manner.
