Director: ISDA Negotiator recruitment
Responsibilities:
- Preparing and negotiating ISDA Master Agreement and any related credit support arrangements, Global Master Repurchase Agreement (GMRA) and master confirmation agreements.
- Reviewing and analysing supporting legal documentation to determine capacity and authority to purchase specific issuances or engage in Over The-Counter (OTC) traded derivative products, among others such as swaps, options synthetic futures on underlying equity, credit, currency and fixed income instruments /assets including commodities.
- Identification and facilitation of business, credit, treasury, legal, tax and policy issues and drafting.
- Coordinating communications among line of business management, trading, sales, credit officers, collateral management, tax department, counsel (in-house and external) and client representative ('internal partners').
- Developing and maintaining client and service provider relationships with internal partners, and to provide superior service by understanding and meeting their needs and requirements.
- Liaising and coordinating inputs with internal partners and marketers/traders to resolve significant issues and to reflect accurately the necessary credit and business terms of the relationship whilst conforming to Bank guidelines and policies.
- Effectively managing the master agreements process flow, to ensure that the master agreements are efficiently prepared, negotiated and within the expected business timeframe.
- Identifying and elevating, as appropriated, significant legal and regulatory issues and non-conforming or non-standard terms/ provisions from our firm's standard templates to legal and working alongside with internal partners to resolve outstanding points in the master agreements' negotiation.
- Involvement in special projects as and when required.
Requirements:
- Legally qualified with 5 -10 years of related experience.
- Proficiency in both English. Mandarin is preferred but not a pre-requisite
- Experienced in drafting and negotiating master agreements; exposure to the NAFMII is a plus.
- Experience with securities lending and repurchase transactions is a plus
- Ability to exercise judgment within defined parameters.
- Excellent communication, analytical and organisational skills.
- Be able to work both independently and as an integral part of the team.
- Highly self-motivated and ability to prioritise workload.
