Position Description:
Multi-channel retailer seeks experienced Database Analytics Professional to provide in-depth analysis of the Company's business results and consumer behavior to improve sales, profitability and customer value.
Responsible for leading all execution of all analytics related to database mining, marketing research, web analytics and A/B testing to maximize profitability, drive customer loyalty, and optimize promotional strategies for Saks Direct.
Determine Analytics Project Roadmap to drive revenue for saks.com
- Identify strategic online trends and actionable customer insights based on a clear understanding of business objectives - retention, acquisition, purchase frequency, cross-shopping, profitability, etc.
- Analyze multi-channel results of online programs and customers.
Partner with all marketing channel leads (Acquisition and Retention) to determine retention initiatives, remarketing strategies, acquisition strategies and ensure promotional strategies are optimized.
Responsible for managing and developing Saks Direct Analytics team.
Responsible for ensuring all analytics tools are best in class – database, web analytics tool, market research vendor and AB testing platform. Additionally, own all vendor and partner relationships for each area.
Analyze relevant data and generate reports/presentations that provide actionable insights and identify growth opportunities.
Creating and analyzing dashboard reports for tracking of business results, database management and ensuring data integrity (Perform extensive data quality / data analysis to ensure integrity of database for business use.)
Other Key Responsibilities:
Data mining analyses – customer profiling and segmentation, purchase cycle and churn analysis, and cross-shop and category-affinity analysis.
Weekly/monthly reporting – including but not limited to, promotion results and customer counts and attributes.
Web analytics – analyze customer browse data to optimize marketing strategies, such as email segmentation and remarketing tactics.
Qualifications:
A bachelor’s degree, preferably in Business, Marketing or a quantitative field like Economics, Mathematics or Statistics. MBA or Masters in Statistics a plus.
7 - 10 years of experience in marketing analytics and database marketing.
Experience managing and developing a analytics team
Strong experience with CRM systems and relational databases a must!
Experience with command-line statistical analysis software (e.g. SAS or R) or with a high-level programming language (e.g. C++, Java, Python, VB, etc) to analyze, manipulate data, investigate data problems, develop and modify reports required
Strong Microsoft Excel skills. Ability to code macros in VBA a plus.
Proven ability to apply findings to business problems to lift revenue and profits.
Deep knowledge of web analytics packages (e.g. Omniture, Visual Sciences, Coremetrics or Google Analytics).
Additionally, candidates must excel in the following areas: strategic thinking, analytical problem solving, organization, project management, presentation skills, and interpersonal, verbal and written communication. Strong data interpretation and ability to summarize complex findings clearly and concisely
