The position reports to the Vice President of Marketing Planning and Operations in the Marketing department of Prudential Annuities. The incumbent is responsible for the development of the strategic direction and ongoing leadership of our marketing and product analytical efforts.
He/she will define and enable required analytics to support organizations channel strategies. Role will be responsible for developing and constantly improving reporting and analytics around marketing campaigns; identifying and delivering required data/analytics to inform and support full range of activities, including but not limited to; channel adoption/usage, segmentation, path analysis and testing.
Responsibilities include:
- Working with internal stakeholders across the organization to develop and manage the analytic structure. Responsibilities include assessing the data, software, and reporting needs of individuals within the marketing organization, and developing what will ultimately be our marketing analytic structure, including a marketing dashboard. This will involve working with various members of IT and BI. Will also be responsible for looking across the organization, leveraging existing resources and acting as champion for new resources when necessary.
- Provide insight and recommendations to senior leadership on topics relating to the assessment and implementation of statistical and analytic methods.
- Development and evolution of reporting dashboards that will directly impact marketing decisions, highlighting key business/channel metrics and performance against established goals.
- Coordinates development and implementation with other areas of the organization on various aspects of marketing programs (product, investments, channel, project management, etc.)
- Will coordinate cross functional initiatives that may become part of an overall marketing dashboard, but would be sourced in the areas mentioned. Will provide analytic insight as well.
- Responsible for planning and implementation of large projects or marketing activities supporting objectives for revenue, volume, profit, customer satisfaction, retention, etc. These would be specific initiatives which are analytics intensive but contribute to our overall goals. An example might be the evaluation, selection, and implementation of a solution designed to analyze our social media efforts or other parts of the digital strategy.
- Develops objectives and strategies as well as monitoring performance for specialized programs.
- Partner with vendors to enhance current reporting capabilities and identify/define future state of analytic framework.
- Supporting customer segmentation efforts to enable effective targeting for online campaigns. This is a much larger effort that will rely on this individual's ability to identify and assess our current marketing strategies, determine which customer segments are of most interest from a marketing perspective, and aid in developing a more robust schema for our marketing initiatives.
- Minimum of five years of proven analytic leadership in a marketing or related environment.
- Bachelor's degree required; MBA preferred.
- Experience conducting data analyses, results/findings interpretation, preparing related recommendations and presenting findings to management.
- Understanding of financial and operational metrics.
- Knowledge campaign management programs such as Epiphany, Unica, etc.
- Proficient with Excel; Access, Cognos, SAS or similar experience preferred.
- Familiarity with basic statistical methods including segmentation and regression.
- Strategic planner. Ability to take large scale projects and drive to implementation.
- Must be able to educate and influence stakeholders from across the organization
- Strong interpersonal skills; excellent oral and written communications skills.
