Director of Business Excellence

My client is a division of a large manufacturing business, following a period of substantial growth a new role has been created. The Director of Business Excellence will work closely with the MD to focus on strategic operational management and requires a combination of strong technical skills and a commercial background. The position also requires the ability to analyse financial statements and to identify key drivers that can be controlled to improve profitability. As a member of the senior management team, this individual provides program and project management support, with an emphasis on prioritisation, resource utilisation and project benefit analysis, in the identification and implementation of various initiatives which seek to reduce cost and increase organisational efficiency. The director will provide advice and guidance with the design and implementation of system changes to support business process improvements. The position will maintain a strategic view of the finance and business objectives and develop a portfolio of initiatives that deliver on the core objectives of the organisation. The role will lead a team to manage the timeline, scope, resources, issues, risk and dependencies of the initiatives within the transformation portfolio.

Skills, qualifications
Qualified accountant or MBA with a proven commercial finance background
Project management experience with Six Sigma Black Belt /Lean Manufacturing or Prince 2 accreditation
Knowledge of manufacturing processes and methods.
Proven leadership ability.
Cross functional project management experience in a large manufacturing organisation
