Director of Business Intelligence at Safari Books Online (Boston, MA) (allows remote)
Job Description
Safari is looking to add a Director of Business Intelligence to lead the design, development, testing and deployment of CRM, marketing automation, reporting, and data warehouse solutions. We value decisions that are supported by data but complemented by experience, pragmatism, and good judgment.
This is an opportunity to mix interesting tactical problems, like enhancing the coupling between our product databases and Salesforce, with strategic goals like building a culture of thoughtful and robust analytics.
You will work closely with various functional teams to translate business requirements into optimized data analysis and reporting systems. You'll also be responsible for organizing, mentoring, and growing a team of specialists in data capture and analysis. Our existing team has a range of talents and backgrounds, from traditional software engineering to Salesforce administration to financial modeling. You'll have broad authority and responsibility to grow that team and define the data culture of the company as a whole.
This position has direct responsibility for the data and reporting group of 4-6 individuals and reports to the VP of Engineering. You'll coordinate daily with IT and other business units to ensure that data capture and reporting is secure, reliable, and of the highest quality.
