Scrubs Beyond is a fun, fast-paced, multi-channel leader in the medical apparel industry. We are seeking a merchandising/creative director of our direct mail catalog division based in St. Louis, MO.
Summary: Provide the leadership that delivers catalog/web sales and profit goals. Develop and account for catalog merchandise plans, financial plans, and budgets. Responsible for all product selection, vendor negotiations, along with direction for the entire catalog creative process including but not limited to pagination, design direction, photography, prepress, and final files delivery to the printer. Communicate all product offering details to secure timely inventory deliveries and the writing of accurate copy.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Develop and implement merchandise and marketing plans to achieve or exceed sales plans for 4 catalogs annually.
- Work with vendors to review product offerings, select merchandise, negotiate and secure all product details, pricing, and delivery times for catalog/web. Review final product quality and specifications.
- Establish and direct the entire creative process.
- Meet with the design and marketing teams to establish seasonal direction.
- Cohesively paginate all catalogs.
- Organize and direct all aspects of the photo shoots.
- Make final photography selections; review with the president.
- Direct all system and color work to be performed on the images.
- Responsible for overseeing the delivery of all final page files to the printer as planned; attend press ok’s as need.
- Work with inventory control to produce accurate and timely projections on product to vendors and for internals planning purposes. Communicate with vendors during later states of catalog development to ensure projections and orders reflect any changes from earlier plans or changes to expectations.
- Attend weekly staff meetings to promote excellent communication and direction.
- Develop strong, dependable working relationships with co-workers, vendors, and staff.
Education/Training/Experience
- Requires Bachelors Degree or equivalent work experience.
- Must have 5+ years of senior management experience in the direct mail industry.
