An international, market leading property business is looking for a Director of Client Accounting to join its central London business.
The holder of the role will take a lead role in a number of transitional projects and will report directly into CFO level, providing outstanding exposure and progression opportunities.
The responsibilities will include:
ACCOUNTABILITIES:
EXPENSE PROCESSING and ACCOUNTS PAYABLE
Oversight and Management of the processes for:
· Auditing and recording of client disbursements for the EMEA region.
· Control of outsourced expense processing activities for the region
· Release of payments on behalf of clients to client employees and to 3rd parties
· All other client accounting functions
OPERATIONAL RESPONSIBILITY
· Provide leadership to the regional accounting teams
· Accountability for service provision and outputs of the teams and intervention in issues/”hotspots” e.g. process / systems failures.
· Oversee the key control checkpoints of the payment process i.e. approvals, system recording, payment release.
· Develop and exhibit expert level of technical ability for all accounting, transactional processes and systems
· Take full responsibility for timeliness, completeness and accuracy and meeting service level agreements to clients
· Recruitment, training, development and people management responsibilities.
· Oversight of all accounting entries and banking system entries within region
· Process improvement – lead and work cross functionally and with Client Accounting colleagues on system and process improvements.
CONSULTANCY AND SUPPORT
· Build close working relationship with senior management, Client Services for EMEA and other senior colleagues.
· Build close working relationship with Global Client Service Directors and advise proactively on EMEA client accounting matters for their clients
· Contribute as part of Client Accounting global management team ensuring compliance with global controls and processes and consistency of service
· Represent Client Accounting on business development initiatives within EMEA region
· Represent Client Accounting on new client implementations
· Liaise with Corporate Accounting colleagues and outsource provider on EMEA legal entity accounting matters
ACCOUNTING and REPORTING
· Ensure all control and exception reports are reviewed and actioned
· Ensure all month end accounting processes are completed timely
· Metrics and SLA reporting
QUALITY
· Be able to operate comfortably at a senior management level and exhibit a high level of personal integrity
· Excellent attention to detail and a commitment to getting things right first time
· Ability to manage and motivate a large team and to develop senior staff
