The Director of Content Management will help develop the vision and define our content strategy, develop our content calendar and roadmap for acquisition. This person will drive the identification, acquisition, development and asset management of content to be utilized across channels and brands of Bed Bath Beyond. This includes custom content created either in-house or thru agencies, existing third-party content or partner content.
The successful candidate will be hands-on, have the ability to build and lead a small focused team, and have the ability scale effectively as the position grows. This candidate must have strong collaborative and interpersonal skills as they will interact with senior levels of management across multiple business units.

Job Specifications

• Partner with key stakeholders, vendors, and partners in defining and executing relevant content plans, best practices and deliverables
• Remain on trend and relevant - ahead of the content curve, exploring new types of digital, interactive and social content including new delivery technologies
• Recommend innovative content solutions that are scalable
• Ability to manage to a budget, a calendar, and define KPI’s that are measurable and result in value added interactive experiences, improve sales, assist the associate, and enhance the brand.
• Understand how integration of blogs, expert content, subject matter experts, video and other content forms affect the outcome of a particular execution versus another approach and be able to defend recommendations with solid insights
• Create and maintain strong relationships with third-party publishers in specific industries germane to each brand
• Track and monitor online content in systematic fashion, reporting successes and opportunities
• Help determine, develop and establish the Brand message/voice for all content/
Delegate and distribute responsibilities to supporting team members, yet be ready to execute as a functional team player
• Work with the internal CMS team as well as other key stakeholders to ensure the content works with templates, layouts and have been agreed upon
• Empower content team members to concentrate on their strengths while unifying and synergizing the client-dedicated content team as a whole
• Experience defining and managing structured and unstructured content; experience implementing content management systems
• Deep content management expertise including experience working with 3rd party content providers and aggregators
• Strong working knowledge of information architecture, taxonomy development and vocabulary management.
• Technical understanding of optimizing content for external search engines
• Experience with management of small to medium teams
• Excellent organizational and project management skills
• Proven relationship-management skills and ability to communicate effectively with all levels
• Familiarity with technical implementation of Web 2.0 practices, social media tools, community services, social networking, and wikis.
• Experience in web design and usability a strong plus

• A Bachelor's degree, with specific training / experience in related field required. A Master’s degree, with specific training / experience in related field preferred.
• 7 to 10 years with leadership experience in the digital arena with a focus on content strategy, editorial management, publishing or online journalism.
• Media and advertising experience a plus.
• Extensive management interface experience; must be comfortable presenting to a group
• Possess a cross-functional perspective of marketing campaigns and strategy
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Proficient in all Microsoft Office Applications, Social Media and Blogs
