Director of Credit recruitment
Our client, part of a leading and successful independent merchant banking group, seeks an experienced credit risk professional to take up the key position of Director of Credit, reporting directly to the Managing Director.
The purpose of this role is to review and overhaul the existing credit risk policies, procedures and processes, enhancing or implementing afresh as appropriate in order to create a robust, reliable and respected function. Working as part of the senior management team, and with responsibility for the leadership and performance of a team of credit risk management professionals, you will underwrite submitted transactions, ensure compliance with internal and external standards, manage portfolio performance and regularly assess credit exposure.
Experience of commercial underwriting in a variety of sectors will be required, together with practical knowledge of contract documentation. Your stakeholder management and communication skills will be tested in order to build effective working relationships with colleagues at all levels. You should also demonstrate the energy and drive necessary to establish momentum behind the proposed agenda and the ability to overcome resistance and obstacles where encountered.
A ‘can do’ approach to doing business is essential and the ability to deliver a positive change management experience will be key to your success in this role.
