The Confidential Search Company is an executive recruiting firm with over 25 years of experience specializing in the placement of healthcare administrative and financial executives, directors, managers and specialists.  We have been engaged to conduct the search for a Payroll Manager for a multi-hospital health system located outside of Boston, MA within the 128 belt.

 

The Director of Disbursements reports to the Senior Director of Accounting and oversees and directs the payroll and accounts payable operations.

 

The Director will direct and manage cash disbursements functions for the health system and will ensure proper and adequate internal controls, procedures, policies and systems are in place.  They will work with the Senior Director of Accounting and senior management on continual process improvement of the disbursement cycle including processes to enable more efficient work flow.

 

The Director of Disbursements will supervise two managers, two supervisors and a staff of six.

 

The payroll  operation is complex, with fourteen unions and 50 different pay groups.

 

Responsible for managing the tax reporting for payroll and A/P including W2’s, 941’s, and 1099’s and ensuring adequate compliance with all required tax laws.  Maintain all required files on disbursements including but not limited to employee timesheets, taxes and vendor payments.

 

Starting salary is up to $110,000, depending on background and experience.  There may be some additional consideration for an outstanding candidate.

 

 

 

Qualifications

 

Bachelors degree (preferred, not required) in Accounting or related field with strong accounting and analytical skills.  Strong communications skills and strong computer and software skills.  Experience with Meditech systems is a plus.

 

Five years of progressive advancement in the areas of disbursements including experience with in-house Payroll operations and accounts payable at a senior level in a large, complex healthcare organization preferred.  Experience in a hospital is a plus.

 

Demonstrated experience analyzing, preparing and reporting expense accruals and performance to staff and managers.  Knowledge of accounting, general ledgers, EOCs, with strong systems experience.

 

Must be highly organized and highly motivated.  Strong management and leadership skills. Excellent problem solving skills.
