We allow our businesses and partners to securely transact against these instruments. The team owns the initiatives for driving the companyrsquo;s payment costs as low as possible and managing the supply chain for our external providers. The team is responsible for enabling payments for new marketplaces and adding new payment products. The team owns the quality, performance and availability of payments across Amazon (and other businesses). It is a team that creates and develops the software services, infrastructure and tools that enable business applications to add new payment methods, accept existing payment methods and perform required post-settlement processing ndash; in short, everything required in the life of a payment. Amazon is seeking a very strong, business savvy, technical leader to provide the product and technology vision to scale our capabilities and drive aggressive growth and increases in payment volume. This requires a thorough knowledge of what it takes to develop scalable, extensible technology, as well as how to structure and develop organizations to accommodate significant growth rates. This leader will drive the next generation product vision, development and implementation designed for simplicity and scale. They will be constantly striving for better and better results on behalf of Amazonrsquo;s customers, whether buyers or sellers. This engineering leader will develop future game changing initiatives that could include enabling rapidly growing global acceptance and empowering multiple lines of business to become more efficient. Basic Qualifications BS in Computer Science or a related engineering field. 5+ years experience in distributed systems engineering and user facing application development. 10+ years of management experience leading an organization of 100 or more people 1+ years of experience leading multiple simultaneous product development efforts. Preferred Qualifications Strong at organizational planning and development so that he or she will be able to scale the business to keep pace with and beyond Amazonrsquo;s growth rate. This leader will have a strong reputation for hiring and developing the best talent. The leader needs to balance technical leadership and savvy with strong business judgment. He or she must be technically deep enough to be credible to lead teams of world class software engineers, develop the product vision and high level design and be knowledgeable enough to make the right decisions about technology choices.
