Director of Executive Planning – Bilingual English/Japanese

 

Job Summary

The position reports to the President and functions as a business partner that supports the organization by driving organizational goals and objectives. The primary responsibility is to support the President on strategic and tactical projects to ensure the organization meets or exceeds goals and objectives while understanding TPCi policy and practices. As a liaison to both domestic and international management teams and with the parent company in Japan, the role requires excellent project management and communication skills in both Japanese and English. This position has multiple direct reports.

 

Primary Responsibilities

·         Develop direct reports and partner with TPCi leadership team.

·         Execute projects and initiatives throughout the organization in support of overall strategy, as directed by the President.

·         Develop, analyze and report/present, on business-related metrics, such as but not limited to sales, operating results, forecasts, and other key business performance indicators.

·         Partner with departmental leaders to collect data and analyze key performance indicators and make recommendations for improvements.

·         Maintain and promote excellent client relations by managing proactive, prompt, and accurate communications.

·         Problem-solve diverse business issues that arise in the day-to-day operations of an international organization.

 

Qualifications

·         Bilingual with excellent writing, speaking, and presenting skills in both Japanese and English.

·         Demonstrated working knowledge of conservative Japanese culture and customs in the workplace.

·         7 - 10 years demonstrated business-related experience in multinational corporations, including Japan and other countries. Experience with Japanese, American, and European business environments.

·         Excellent project management skills with proven ability to drive results; action-oriented and strong problem solver.

·         Strong demonstrated leadership, presentation, and communication skills required.

·         Ability to understand, interpret, translate and communicate company business plans, strategy and objectives to Japanese officials at parent company.

·         Ability to present results of reporting and analysis to management, both in written and verbal English and Japanese.  

·         BA or BS degree. An MBA is a plus.

 

Work Environment

·         May be required to travel.
