Director of Finance
A mid-tier UK law firm with a strong Commercial presence is currently recruiting a Director of Finance to join them on a permanent basis in their London-based office.
As the Number One head of the Finance Department, you would be responsible for the management of the entire finance function, including accounting, treasury, billing and credit control. Working at Board level, you would be coordinating the analysis of financial information and liaising with Partners in order to advise upon financial strategy and identify potential opportunities and threats. This role works alongside the Managing Partner to analyse trends and evaluate business opportunities as well as identify and advise upon profit improvement plans to constantly increase profitability and productivity of the business. You will also be working with function heads of the Firm to reduce the overall real costs in the business and will oversee cost/benefit analysis of all major spending discussions. You will also be involved in various projects, including upgrading and implementing a new finance system.
This Legal firm are looking for a Qualified Accountant with a Legal or Professional Services background with strong management skills and a proven ability of leading a team. Given that this role will involve liaising with external stakeholders including auditors, banks and tax advisers as well as building internal relationships with Partners and fee earners, the successful candidate will be an excellent communicator with good commercial acumen. Previous experience of implementing changes and restructures within Finance teams would be highly beneficial, as well as strong knowledge of the legal sector.
