The Milken Scholars Program has an opening for a new position.  We are seeking an innovative thinker, self-starter, highly confident professional with the skills, knowledge, experience and capacity to structure and lead the career development of individuals in the program across multiple ages and work disciplines and also the examination of all business operations needed to establish and launch a new public charity entity.

Prepare a statement of one page or less in which you illustrate how your experience and skills will contribute to the Scholars program and people, and the unique qualities you could bring to the position as described in this document.

 

Job Responsibilities

·         Develop relationships with professionals and potential employers across careers and disciplines that can mentor Scholars and consider Milken Scholars for employment opportunities.

·         Aid Milken Scholars in pursuing career opportunities by offering access to connections and resources, career advice and guidance on next steps in career and life decisions, including internships, job placement, and career transition.

·         Maintain an accurate database of potential employers and contacts.

·         Help maintain up-to-date records on Milken Scholar career paths.

·         Assist in planning of events and operation of Milken Scholars program.

·         Travel to meet with Scholars and potential employers and to assist with new Scholar business ventures as needed.

·         Coordinate meetings between Scholars and leaders in business, government, and other areas of national and international impact.

·         Help explore the possibility of the Milken Scholars Program becoming a public charity.

·         Close and ongoing communication and coordination with Milken Scholars Staff, in particular the Directors, Alumni Director, and Program Coordinator.

 

Required Skills and Qualifications

·         M.A. or M.S. required, M.B.A. highly preferable

·         At least 5 years work experience demonstrating skills as outlined in this job description

·         Interpersonal and demonstrated verbal communication skills to interact and form lasting relationships with high level and high profile business leaders and Foundation Co-Founders and Senior Staff

·         In-depth knowledge and understanding of careers and career paths across disciplines and geographic locations around the globe, especially South America and Asia

·         Understanding of professional development and career path needs of high achieving individuals

·         Demonstrated skills in human relations, business administration, written communications, organization, planning, creativity and collaboration

·         Ability to work independently with minimum supervision
