Posted Position Title: Director of Interest Rate Risk Management Career Level: Experienced Function Risk Management Function Segment: Market Risk Location: United States U.S. State, China or Canada Provinces: Connecticut City: Stamford Postal Code: 06905-3417 Relocation Assistance Yes Role Summary/Purpose: Independent Market Risk oversight of Interest Rate Risk of GE Capitals Global Commercial Real Estate, Global Energy Financial and the Americas Retail Finance businesses. Essential Responsibilities Essential Functions: - Lead roll out of enhanced Interest Rate Risk Management (IRRM) oversight around GE Capitals Global Commercial Real Estate, Global Energy Financial and the Americas Retail Finance businesses in line with market risk best practices and regulatory guidance. - Work with EMEA market risk leader to pull together Global Market risk picture for Global Consumer platform for the Global Consumer CRO. - Coordinate management (e.g. hedging) of in-business Interest rate risk with Exposure Management and in-business Treasury team. - Build relationships with the various businesses leadership teams while providing thought leadership and guidance around market risk practices. - Perform gap assessment against industry standards/regulatory requirements work cross-functionally to close gaps. - Work with closely with IRRM Reporting project team on roll out of Bancware system for ALM. Provide thought leadership and guidance throughout the development lifecycle. Support testing and evaluate reporting output to insure it meets requirements. - As a member of the Businesss ALCO this individual would be expected to work with in-business Risk, Treasury and Finance teams to enhance reporting of Interest Rate risk and all market risks in the ALCO. Work with in-business Risk team/CROs to insure material risks are also disclosed to the businesss ERMC as needed. - Work with Global Market Risk leader to insure material risks are disclosed in the GECC ALCO and ERMC - Risk management oversight includes economic and earnings at risk. Risk factor coverage includes broad definition of interest rate risk: yield curve risk, basis risk (tenor/index/x-ccy), reset risk and optionality. - Evaluate exception requests around market risk limits, policies and guidelines. - Work with Treasury Finance and in-business Treasury teams to insure correct Transfer Pricing of Interest Rate risk to incentivize desired behavior. - Work on due diligence efforts related to acquisitions/assess market risk impact of any proposed divestiture/sale of businesses - Coordinate Market Risk coverage for FX, Commodity and other market risks in these businesses with relevant global risk managers. Qualifications/Requirements: Basic Qualifications: - Bachelors Degree in finance, accounting, economics or related field and at least 7 years of experience ALM or Risk Management Experience in U.S. Regulated Commercial Banking Environment - Proven expertise around NII (Net Interest Income) and EaR modeling and EVE-type modeling for interest rate risk - Deep knowledge and market risk expertise around several of the following commercial/retail banking products (Fixed and Floating Rate Debt Instruments including embedded optionality, Vanilla Interest Rate Derivatives, Deposit Modeling, Credit Cards, Commercial Real Estate Lending, Operating/Financing Leases, Commercial Lending) - Demonstrated strong IT skills Eligibility Requirements: - Must submit your application for employment through gecareers.com to be considered (Internals via COS) - Must be able to satisfy the requirements of Section 19 of the Federal Deposit Insurance Act. - Must be 18 years or older - Must be willing to comply with pre-employment screening, including but not limited to drug testing, reference verification, and background check. - Must have unrestricted authorization to work in the United States - Must be willing to work out of an office in Stamford, CT - Must be willing to travel up to 10%, if applicable For U.S. employment opportunities, GE hires U.S. citizens, permanent residents, asylees, refugees, and temporary residents.
