Director of Investment- Financial Institution Group recruitment

The role and responsibilities can be broken up into 3 phases:

1) Investments and Acquisitions- you will lead deals team in analyzing, screening and where appropriate executing investment opportunities across the FIG space regionally and globally. You will work closely with your execution team as well as the FIG Partner to deliver to the investment committee a well structured and thoroughly detailed analysis of the investment hypothesis, including assumptions, scenario testing as well as potential exit strategy.

2) Portfolio Management and Monitoring- as an integral member of the FIG investment team, you will actively work towards ensuring that the portfolio banks and institutions are well run, managed and operationally sound. Therefore you will need to ensure that strategic and operation decisions and directions of these portfolio companies are aligned with those of the firm as well as complying with relevant regulations domestically as well as internationally

3) Divestment- In this role you will work closely with business partner as well as strategic investors as well as investment banks to source for and seek for potential divestment strategies and opportunities. You will lead the sale or strategic divestment of the portfolio asset with the aim of achieving targeted returns.

The successful candidate should have the following traits:

1) tertiary qualification from a leading university

2) experience either in any of the following:

a) FIG investment banking

b) Corporate MA in a bank/Insurance or related financial institution

c) Direct investment role in FIG in a global PE fund or hedge fund

3) Good communication and presentation skills are critical

4) Sound technical subject matter knowledge

5) Teamplayer with leadership quality and the presence of character to represent the firm to external stakeholders.
