Director of IT recruitment
REPORTING RELATIONSHIPS:
This position will report to the Executive Vice President of Investment Operations
ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
This Director has direct accountability for managing the development, implementation, and deployment of technology, which supports a U.S. based investment advisor that specializes in international markets. Specifically, this individual will:
- Manage a team, which supports the current infrastructure, and will also plan, budget, and manage the execution of the next generation infrastructure.
- Manage investment systems: systems upgrades and research systems
- Oversee the implementation of network security
- Supervise the management and planning of the company's telephone system, and all upgrade efforts. This will include oversight of internet, wireless, and long distance service providers
- Oversee the management of the corporate Help-Desk activities, and resolves all escalated issues
- Establish and build relationships with vendors in conjunction with corporate leaders
- Work with accounting for purchasing issues, and developing budgets
- Be responsible for capacity planning and scheduling vendor negotiations related to IT
QUALIFICATIONS:
This position requires:
- At least 7 - 10 years experience managing an IT department in an asset management company
- Working knowledge of tools, such as Bloomberg, FactSet and strong excel skills
- Strong knowledge of order management, execution management, and portfolio management systems
- Strong knowledge of investment research and portfolio performance systems
- High level of integrity and strong work ethic
- Excellent budgeting skills
- Strong understanding of financial statements
- Strong leadership and team management skills
- Communication skills - Ability to articulate clearly an investment case in writing and speech
- Bachelors degree is required, Masters Degree preferred.
