Director of Manufacturing Operations
System One is currently seeking a Director for Manufacturing Operations. The Director will be responsible for operations management of a state of the art manufacturing facility to produce complex power generation product assemblies using the latest lean manufacturing principles and an anticipated workforce of up to 300. The Director will be based in Texas and report to VPs in the US and in Europe. This is a full time direct opportunity with extensive benefits and relocation to Northern Texas.
The Director, Manufacturing Operations will maintain broad oversight of operations, and anticipate and direct timely and effective responses to problems, ensuring that overall operations are conducted in accordance with company policies and procedures and comply with all required regulations.
Qualifications
- Represent the organization in senior management level meetings and play a key role in the establishment of major business strategies.
- Oversee the plant's performance relative to quality of products and responsiveness to customer requirements, and initiate remedial measures, as appropriate.
- Direct continual review of operations and the development and introduction of alternative approaches for providing quality products at low cost.
- Responsible for ensuring that all products are produced according to the master production schedule within the budget of hours and related costs and the required quality.
- Direct complex technical analyses and investigations, review proposals and make decisions that have major impact on the Company.
- Proactively seek, develop and implement initiatives to cost-effectively achieve goals and ensure utmost customer satisfaction. Promote and enable professional and technical development of staff.
- With the support of the global organization, as well as local experts, implement and continuously improve a state of the art lean manufacturing operations including logistics and warehousing.
KNOWLEDGE AND EXPERIENCE:
- Experience manufacturing LARGE COMPLEX assemblies (aircraft, bulldozers, locomotives etc)
- Experience with and have the ability to implement and drive a strong EHS program
- Bachelors Degree in Engineering, Business of related technical discipline, MBA preferred
- Minimum 16 years related experience with minimum of ten years manufacturing experience in comparable U.S. based industry and eight years in an operations leadership position
- Demonstrated experience in dealing with varying production capacities and anticipated events and capabilities in the operative business according to the situation within production
- Demonstrated ability to effectively manage human resources through leadership of the production facility leadership
- Experience in handling of the production budget, production schedule and quality requirements
- Steering of the continuous information flow inside the production area.
