Director of Marketable Alternatives recruitment

POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES
The position’s responsibilities will include:
•    Evaluate the capabilities of and proactively identify strong marketable alternative strategies (e.g., hedge funds, commodities, risk parity, GTAA). 
•    Lead the firm’s business development initiatives in marketable alternatives, including the development of marketing materials and making new business presentations.
•    Present the firm’s research and recommendations to prospective and existing clients.
•    Attend, network at, and make presentations at industry conferences.
•    Review, monitor, and report on existing allocations to clients.
•    Improve upon all matters related to marketable alternative due diligence and monitoring.
•    Manage and develop the less senior members of our research team.
•    Conduct and publish research that contributes to improvements in the quality of the company’s investment advisory services (e.g., writing white papers).

REQUIRED SKILLS:     
•    A minimum of fifteen years of experience conducting research on marketable alternative strategies; direct experience working at a hedge fund is viewed favorably
•    Ability to develop and pursue new business opportunities
•    Strong relationship management skills
•    Strong quantitative skills, including facility with financial and statistical concepts
•    Superior verbal and written communication skills
•    Excellent attention to detail
•    Ability to work independently and assume leadership responsibilities
•    Ability to work with research staff to meet deadlines
•    Strong managerial and mentoring skills
•    Ability to work well with employees from other company departments
•    Strong interpersonal skills and ability to thrive in a team-oriented environment
•    Ability to travel up to 40% of the time
•    MBA, MSF, CAIA and/or CFA charter holder is preferred
•    Consistent professionalism and unquestionable integrity
