Director of Marketing- Argosy University

Summary:  

This position is responsible for leading all Marketing functions toward revenue achievement for Argosy University. This position will align Marketing with Admissions and PR for a given school systems and analyze key indicators and other operations to drive student body growth. Incumbent must assure that the EDMC philosophy: quality services to clients; development, growth, involvement, and recognition of employees; sound economic principles; and environment which is conducive to innovation, positive thinking and expansion - is considered in carrying out the duties and responsibilities of this position.

Key Job Elements:

  1. Work closely with the VP of Marketing and the Executive Vice-President of Argosy University in developing effective brand consistent marketing messaging in order to satisfy business goals.

  1. Coordinate all student acquisition marketing activities, spanning from inquiry generation (direct response advertising) to prospective student marketing, culminating in new student starts.

  1. Manage/coordinate and work with internal departments and external vendors on planning, Implementation, review and dissemination of approved marketing plans and schedules.

  1. Maintain consistent direct communications to internal clients and maintain consistent image/positioning/messages across student acquisition touch points.

  1. Work with internal staff and external vendors to develop brand consistent collateral and ads.

  1. Is the first point of contact for advertising requests, projects, and questions related to a designated EDMC divisions advertising.

  1. Direct new advertising projects as they arise. Track progress of projects and insure key deadlines and budget objectives are achieved.

  1. Provide reports to communicate the effectiveness of marketing and advertising activities

  1. Act as primary liaison between Marketing and the division operation/locations/schools.

Reports To:   VP of Marketing

Supervises:  A given team and outside vendors as needed

Interacts With:  Advertising and marketing groups (including creative, media, web, etc), Argosy University Executive Committee, Admissions and School Presidents.

Job Requirements (Knowledge, Skills and Abilities):

  1. Knowledge:
    a) Minimum of a Bachelors Degree in Advertising, Marketing, Communications, or related field; MBA preferred.
    b) Minimum of five years Advertising/Marketing business experience. Specifically, must have proven account or brand management, developing and executing integrated marketing plans with a heavy emphasis on direct response marketing, and extensive client contact experience on advertising, marketing, and related communication activities.
    c) Solid experience utilizing integrated marketing (direct, database, interactive, TV, print, PR, grass roots, events, etc.) with an emphasis on interactive search marketing opportunities.
    d) Experience in publicly-traded growth company with multiple products/services a plus.
    e) Understanding of for-profit post-secondary education market a plus

  1. Skills:
    a) Possess an extremely strong proficiency in effective communication to multiple different stakeholders through both oral and written communication
    b) Have a well organized work process
    c) Numerically savvy, comfortable with calculating, monitoring and reporting on marketing spend effectiveness on a weekly and as needed basis
    d) High attention to detail

  1. Abilities:
    a) Ability to multitask and have a customer service oriented demeanor
    b) Ability to understand and target different customer and influencer segments
    c) Ability to work well in a team environment
    d) Ability to lead and motivate direct and non-direct cross
