Chartway Federal Credit Union, among the top 100 largest credit unions in the country, is recruiting for a Director of Mortgage Origination.

The Director of Mortgage Origination is responsible for creating and monitoring a business development plan that drives member and non member mortgage business, efficiently uses resources and maximizes selling opportunities during a loan application. This position coordinates effective communication with credit union personnel and management. This position performs the duties of a Retail Mortgage Originator as needed. This position reports to the Regional President/VP.

Qualifications include a Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience, and approximately 2-5 years in a mortgage related position. Approximately 2-5 years of lending sales experience, and 1-3 years of supervisory or management experience also required. Must have knowledge of mortgage program guidelines for credit union approved mortgage loan products. Ability to comply with federal, state and local law as well as credit union policy as they relate to Fair Credit, Equal Housing Opportunity, Truth in Lending and Home Mortgage Disclosure Act as they relate to the mortgage application process. Ability to coach and train mortgage originators to achieve sales goals, build relationships and provide quality member service. Ability to communicate effectively to all areas responsible for mortgage lending. Ability to lead retail mortgage operations for a specified region.
