Director of Operational Risk & Control recruitment

A challenging and exciting opportunity has become available for a senior Director to join this leading top tier investment bank in London within their Operations Risk Control team.

The key objectives are to build up a strong governance infrastructure for central reporting as well as a robust control framework by setting clear control metrics Policies for Operations.

The Main responsibilities:
Manage small team (3-6 people).
Ensure completeness and integrity of control metrics.
Build strong reporting governance and oversight within Operations.
Independent risk review and assessment of the control environment via metrics reporting.
Establish clear control policies and ensure adherence.
Track and report control gaps and remediation efforts.
Manage the delivery of data integrity and completeness of centrally owned metrics, aligning the Weekly KPI report to month-end Attestation.
Actively build relationships with line Risk Control Officers (RCOs) and asset class lines to create own network where information flows readily, and is readily accessible to improve content of oversight analysis. Work pro-actively with RCO to improve quality of information and enhance relationship between Central Risk and Control and product aligned RCO.
Track all control gaps against best practices ensure development of action plan with owners accountability to close control gaps.

Candidate requirements:
Qualified ACA (preferred).
Investment banking and internal control experience.
Investment Banking Product specific operations experience.
E2E knowledge of Operations processes and product lifecycle.
Experience in Control and risk assessment.
Experience in FSA reporting.
Attention to detail, good analytical skills.
Proactive, and self-motivator, team player and well disciplined.
Dynamic individual, positive.
Very strong communication and presentation skills.
Ability to interact with senior management.
Good strategic thinker with clear vision and steer towards sound control governance.
Good organisation and networking skills.

Candidates will only be considered who have been working at Director level within large organisations.
