Director of Operations – Institutional Asset Manager recruitment

Our client is an established global, multi asset institutional money manager that is focused on delivering superior investment performance by providing a range of investment strategies customised to meet their clients’ needs. As they establish their product offering and infrastructure in Asia they are looking to hire a Director of Operations to support all non-investment aspects of the business to achieve operational excellence and underpin continued growth.
Reporting to the Regional Head of Asia you will manage the communication with all key internal and external parties with the aim of developing deep partnerships and relationships whilst managing service levels with the custodians, fund administrators, regulators, technology vendors, lawyers and accountants.
As the firm establishes products in Asia you will hold a crucial role identifying and leading projects to co-ordinate launches. You will ensure that the infrastructure is in place, liaise with the regulators and operational riskis effectively managed, to provide an efficient service whilst reviewing and maintaining head count in order to meet strategic objectives. You will also lead a team of client servicing professionals responsible for the day to day servicing of a dedicated portfolio of clients and own the qualification and on-boarding process with the objective being absolute client satisfaction.
With over sight of the finance and technology teams as well as facilities management, this is an excellent opportunity to take on a broad business focused leadership role with an established name as they set up and grow across Asia.
To be considered for this critical role you will require:
- 10-15 years infrastructure/operations experience in a leadership role of an asset manager in Asia;
- Familiarity with the Hong Kong SFC regulations with the openness to sit license exams;
- Proven project management and problem solving skills ideally having launched new products;
- Analytical mind-set and strong attention to detail with the ability to balance client requirements against organisational constraints providing alternative solutions;
- Able to work under pressure motivating a team to meet tight delivery deadlines;
- Excellent communication skills in English is essential, to work in this global matrix reporting environment.
