Director of Operations
As the Director of Operations, this position will provide leadership and direction in development, production and day-to-day operation within the company. This position plays a primary role in business development of strategies, marketing, manufacturing and distribution of products. The Director of Operations will be responsible for meeting company expense budgets ensuring all labor and production expenses are maximized. This position will ensure the facility produces exceptional products in a safe and reliable manner while driving operational excellence and continued improvement.
Primary Responsibilities and Duties
· Provide on-site leadership and direction for manufacturing and development of products in support of the business model and operational reliability
· Ensure assets are protected and products are produced in a competitive manner
· Drive continuous improvement and all aspects of the business
· Develops reporting process to identify areas of opportunity concerning production, distribution and marketing of products
· Possess a thorough understanding of contract review and makes recommendations for enhancing the vendor to customer relationship
· Provides operational oversight by managing the production of organic products and bi-products.
· Oversees the continued improvement process of LEAN manufacturing principles and calibration of equipment to ensure product meets criteria
· Analyzes P L statements to ensure profitability goals are reached monthly
· Oversees the customer service area of the organization to ensure complaints and concerns are properly addressed
· Interacts with all facility associates to ensure processes, systems and production tools are consistent across the working environment
· Assists supervisors and managers in proper safety practices and quality assurance programs
· Support the sales and development teams in identification of new business opportunities
· Maintains the confidentiality of proprietary company information and trade secrets
· Fosters an efficient and effective working relationship with all company employees and customers
· Performs other duties as required by CEO, COO and board members
Qualifications
· Five years of Operations Management experience in a manufacturing/distribution environment is critical
· Ability to interface with Sr. Management and manufacturing members
· Experience managing new or improved technology from inception to end user success
· Ability to build and maintain strong team members to achieve company goals
· Committed to succession planning and continued development of team members
