Director of Policy, Complex Care Products- Location Open Job in Washington, District Of Columbia US
This role is responsible for ensuring positive policy position for organization related to Complex Care Products including Medicaid Long Term Care, Home and Community Based Services, Dual Special Needs Plans. This Director will be responsible for positively positioning organization with national stakeholders and in national forums to further organizational position. Responsible for identification of appropriate research projects which may be conducted in conjunction with state or federal agencies and oversee completion of projects that will result in positive public position.
Responsibilities to include:
- Provide complex care product policy support to Regional Presidents, Plan Presidents, VPs of Business Development, and VPs of Government Affairs to advance administrative and legislative support of complex care products
- Support development of integrated Medicare and Medicaid products through internal education and advancement of company position with CMS and state regulators
- Develop tools and resources for external use to position organization as thought leader for the development of products for complex care populations
- Identify opportunities to sponsor research to further the advancement of products for complex care products and facilitate research with trusted institutions
- Manage subject matter experts (e.g. Advocacy Expert, Medicare Expert, etc) to support highly specialized policy development including National Advocacy Council, strategy for annual Medicare bid submission, and Medicare/Medicaid integration efforts
- Bachelor's Degree required
- Graduate Degree preferred (MPA, MPH, MBA, or JD)
- At least 5+ years of Medicare and/or Medicaid policy development experience
- Experience working directly with senior policy makers at both federal and state levels- legislators, governors, policy advisors, and lobbyists
- Policy analysis experience and proven ability to determine policy recommendations and identify organizational risks
- Prefer direct experience working with CMS regional or central office(s)
- Extensive knowledge of Medicare, Medicaid, and waiver programs
- Extensive experience in public speaking, with preference to large forums including testifying before legislatures
- Understanding of state governments and proven ability to maneuver to achieve goals
- Demonstrable writing capabilities, including policy/position papers, presentations, and testimony
