Position Summary
We are looking for a dynamic, experienced Director of Product Management to manage a next-generation classroom solution of software and hardware. This position will be responsible for both technical and business aspects of this solution including strategic product planning; internal and external product expertise and evangelism; business analysis and product-line management; and cross-functional leadership and collaboration across the organization. This position will initially serve as an individual contributor, with significant exposure and influence across the organization, with the potential to lead a team of product management professionals in the future.
Responsibilities
The successful candidate will be responsible for:
Analysis and understanding of market needs and trends and the incorporation of market requirements into product plans.
Complete management of product lifecycle, from conception and strategic planning through requirements definition, development, launch, and post-launch customer satisfaction.
Strategic planning and management of a multi-year roadmap.
Tracking, analyzing, and management of financial KPIs and related product metrics.
Competitive research, analysis, and product-differentiation strategies.
Maximizing the end-to-end customer experience across all aspects of the solution.
Communication, collaboration, and leadership of cross-functional teams to successfully develop and release products, support marketing and sales efforts, and streamline and enhance internal processes.
Creation, analysis, and proposal of new product ideas and opportunities.
Customer advocacy and evangelism.
Supporting sales and corporate partners with product-related activities and customer meetings as needed.
Skills, Knowledge, Experience and Education
Base Qualifications:
7+ years of software product management experience, with at least 2 years of experience leading other product management professionals.
Combination of business and technical acumen.
Strong strategic thinking, business analysis, and decision-making ability.
Demonstrated passion for, and experience with, the end-to-end user experience.
Willingness to travel (10 – 20% on average).
Significant public-speaking experience and skill.
Process-oriented understanding of product management needs.
Proactive leader who anticipates and addresses issues and needs.
Excellent interpersonal, communication and writing skills.
Demonstrated ability to manage and drive cross-functional groups across an organization.
Highly organized with strong attention to detail.
Strong sense of product ownership across all aspects of the solution.
Additional preferred qualifications:
Prior experience with K-14 education technology products.
Experience managing a combined hardware / software solution.
Pragmatic Marketing certifications.
Education: Technical Bachelor's degree. MBA a plus.
