JOB SUMMARY

Ensure Personal Safety, Food Safety, Quality, Cost, Delivery, and Motivation through effective management of front line leaders and coordination with plant leadership.  All objectives for production are in line with the business goals and objectives set by the Stonyfield Leadership Team and the TPM Steering Team.


ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.

·      Responsible for all aspects of food safety and quality as defined in plant and department procedures.

·      Execute for excellence.  Ensure you and your staff monitors the results for safety, quality, cost, efficiencies, compliance to schedule, and executing action plans for continuous improvement as is necessary.

·      Ensure people safety through behavior based audits and participation in the culture change for zero incidents

·      Lead initiatives to improve and sustain product quality through implementation and training of standard operating procedures and standardized best practices.

·      Reduce costs through innovative staffing ideas, cross-training, improved efficiencies, efficient scheduling.

·      Direct team of front line management in processing, filling, packaging, and incubation to ensure alignment through communication, direction and goal setting, results measurement and regular feedback.

·      Drive teamwork and motivate through results-driven activities.

·      Participate and encourage participation in the TPM/Continuous Improvement Culture through the Steering Team, Production Cells, AM Pillar, and Problem Solving groups.

·      Implement zoning techniques and clear communication on results based on QCDM principles (Quality, Costs, Deliveries, Motivation).

·      Drive reduction in process/product losses.

·      Provide a culture of success with new product ideas and trials with RD.

·      Coach root-cause-analysis and problem solving skills throughout the organization.

·      Promote teamwork with peers in maintenance, engineering, performance, quality, supply chain, HR, finance.

·      Implement all necessary actions to comply with the OSHA, PMO, FDA regulations, NH authorities and all other legal requirements.

·      Participate in third party audits as is necessary to support compliance and business expectations.

·      Perform other duties as assigned.

ENVIRONMENTAL RESPONSIBILITIES

·      Oversee the efficient implementation of quality standards, programs and processes to improve operational efficiencies and reduce/eliminate production waste and spoilage.

·      Support environmental programs established within the organization to include recycle all office wastes according to program guidelines, initiate power conservation techniques by turning off lights and Computers when not in use.

·      Proactively look for ways to reduce negative impacts on the environment

 

            SAFETY RESPONSIBILITIES

·      Proactively work in a safe manner in the context of performing the functions of your position

·      Oversee the implementation and adherence to Company safety practices and programs and hold staff accountable for leading safety in the work place. 

QUALIFICATIONS

·      MS Degree in manufacturing management, engineering or associated discipline preferred, or the equivalent combination of education and experience.

·      Minimum of 5 years of experience providing executive level production leadership and direction in a rapidly expanding foods manufacturing environment (preferably dairy). Exceptional knowledge of food manufacturing to effectively facilitate and lead solution based efforts that promote safety and quality while delivering reliable output efficiently.

·      Past experience leading culture change in TPM manufacturing environment.

·      Past experience in World Class Manufacturing; ability to support WCM concepts within the departments directed.

·      Strong team building and planning skills.

·      Strong written and oral communication skills

·      Excellent leadership and time management skills.

·      Computer proficiency required.

·      Ability to prioritize and meet deadlines within specified time constraints.

·      Ability to operate in a team environment.

·      Ability to adapt in a changing work environment. 

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

·      Ability to safely lift 20 lbs.

·      Ability to bend and reach files and cabinets where records are stored

·      Office environment repetitive motion through computer use required

·      Manufacturing environment operating in areas where high noise, machinery and chemicals are present
