DIRECTOR OF PULMONARY OPERATIONS

For 35 years Biomedical Systems has set the health care industry standard by providing innovative approaches to non-invasive diagnostic services, products and supplies. This is a key management position with the Pulmonary Function Services division of Biomedical Systems.

The Pulmonary Function Services division of Biomedical Systems manages numerous international clinical studies for Pharmaceutical companies. To date, over 7,000 patients from 1,103 sites in 25 countries have utilized Biomedical Systems' Centralized Pulmonary Services. We have successfully captured and submitted more than 1.6 million pulmonary function tests and have processed over 100 million pulmonary function data points in the past 14 years.

The Director of Pulmonary Operations will be responsible for all day to day operational activities in the St. Louis office for the BMS Pulmonary Function Services division. This position will report to the Executive Director of Pulmonary for BMS.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBITLIES

•           Lead a team of approximately 25 operations personnel, including Clinical Project Managers, Registered Respiratory Therapists, and operational technicians.

•           Ensure appropriate operational controls and procedures are in place or implement as appropriate.

•           Manage personnel resources, ensuring skill sets match job responsibilities.

•           Write and implement SOPs for control and procedural improvements.

•           Identify and maintain key operational metrics.

•           Coordinate operational audits, both internal and external, and prepare responses to audit comments, as necessary.

•           Implement a formal comprehensive training program for all aspects of pulmonary operations.

•           Coordinate ongoing software development activities.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

•           Four-year college degree with BA/BS in business administration, or related field.  

•           Pulmonary experience a plus—RRT / RPFT.

•           Excellent interpersonal and leadership skills. Demonstrated successful leadership experience at the management level…….in a fast paced corporate or comparable setting.

•           Excellent verbal and written communication skills.  

•           Self-motivated individual with creative problem solving skills.

•           Excellent planning, organizational and administrative skills.

•           Proficient with MS Excel, MS Word and Power Point.
