Director of Regulatory Affairs Job in Baltimore, Maryland US

Progressive, stable, growth oriented company specializing in food additive marketing and manufacturing is seeking a seasoned Director of Regulatory Affairs.  The client has made its mark in the food industry by using state-of-the-art technology and innovative research development to turn food product challenges into revolutionary solutions.  This position is located in the North East.

 

The Director of Regulatory Affairs is accountable for policies and procedures insuring company compliance with all applicable global regulatory/compliance/safety laws and regulations

 

Primary Responsibilities:

·         Uphold active compliance with an ever-changing regulatory environment across numerous sites

·         Predict changes to the Regulatory and business landscape and provide direction to the Company in preparing for and addressing these changes

·         Train and mentor all direct reports of the Regulatory department

·         Research and analyze regulatory data such as regulation changes, advisory panel output, position statements and scientific studies

·         Review regulatory, compliance and safety laws and regulations to ensure that company operations coincide

·         Respond to customer inquiries and follow up as appropriate

·         Perform regular internal audits of the regulatory and compliance areas to ensure accuracy

·         Participate in industry and governmental groups and conferences

·         Exhibit and impose the cultural values of the company

·         Approve product label regulatory elements, including ingredient listing, country of origin and allergen review

·         Implement training, procedures and processes to aid corporate geographic, market, product and industry growth which may involve:

o   Import/export requirements, duties, taxes and shipping requirements

o   Product approval processes in various geographic locations

o   Regulations, laws and industry standards for various industry divisions

o   Corroboration of product claims, label regulations, patent process knowledge and experience

 

Requirements:

·         Bachelor’s Degree; advanced degree preferred in legal discipline, Food Science or Chemistry

·         5+ years of management experience in food or related industry

·         Experience within a regulatory capacity

·         Ability to effectively communicate with appropriate governmental regulatory bureaus
