Director of Resources

City College Brighton and Hove are seeking to appoint an accountancy qualified Director of Resources who will be responsible for a wide range of back office functions. The job is a high profile position within the college and the wider community, and will be a key member of the senior management team.

The job will provide effective decision support to the Executive Management Team and will report directly to the Deputy CEO. It will take responsibility for the Finance, IT and Estates teams, and will ensure that all areas of the organisation can communicate effectively with one another. City College is experiencing an unprecedented period of change, and this position will be at the forefront of this.

Other responsibilities include maintaining and developing the college's Finance, IT, Reprographic and Estate resources systems, as well as the procedures that operate them. Up to date MI is imperative, so strong analysis and communication skills are key. It will also be necessary to ensure budget reforecasts and medium term financial projections are regularly prepared, reviewed and approved.

The successful candidate will be a qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CGMA, CIPFA), but will have experience of working with multi-skilled teams. Strong IT skills are a must, as well as proven leadership skills in a fast paced environment. They will also be a true business partner and will be able to demonstrate strong commercial acumen in their career to date.

Knowledge of further education funding methodology is also preferred, but not essential. City College will consider candidates from the private sector, but they need to demonstrate that they have managed a diverse range of functions.
