This is an exciting time of record growth for Melaleuca. We are a $900M+ multinational ecommerce company with offices in Europe, China, Hong Kong, Japan, Korea, Singapore, Malaysia, Australia and USA. We are currently looking for a Director of Software Development to oversee our Dev organization. Reporting to the COO, the Director of Dev will manage a staff of about 25-30 developers and Architects. This individual will direct strategy and software development as well as define overall architectural direction for the company.
Requires Relocation to Idaho Falls, IDAHO
The Director of Software Development will need to have an desire to be part of a closely-held, socially conscious and values based company. The candidate will have a proven track record of successfully leading a high growth global business where he/she has been a key figure in developing and leading long and short term strategic and tactical business efforts. The Director of Development will be a strong leader of people with an open and direct style who practices participative management, adaptability and team building; they will strive for continued personal development and growth.
In addition, the individual will have successfully influenced and marshaled resources across cross functional departments including IT, Operations, and International. He/she will possess over 15 years of progressive business experience in more challenging and fiscally responsible positions.
Professional Experience required:
- Ability to relocate to Idaho Falls, Idaho (Relocation Assistance available)
- A minimum of 10 years broad experience as a Director of Development, VP of Development or other senior IT leader in a major multi-business, global organization. .
- Prior experience managing and/or directing the Development of a large, complex organization using MS Visual Studio.
- Strong technical and operational expertise across all areas of the IT function.
- Significant experience with enterprise-wide IT architecture strategies and standardization fopr an AGILE Environment.
- Proven leadership, influencing and negotiating skills in a highly matrixed environment; ability to place IT in the context of broader company strategy and business results.
- Strong project and program management skills.
- Prior experience in managing third-party vendors, including onshore/offshore resources.
- Demonstrated collaboration and influence skills that will build consensus and drive complex change.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills, especially with respect to articulating highly technical concepts to both more technical and less technical audiences; exceptional analysis and presentation skills.
- Strong people management and leadership capabilities.
- Demonstrated experience in attracting and retaining a high performing team.
